A Long's Proposal Story: Derek & Ashley

There's nothing more magical than the Holiday season for the perfect proposal! Congratulations to our newest Long's couple, Derek and Ashley. We love their romantic proposal story and are head over heels for her perfect rose gold engagement ring. Here are all the details that we're dying to share:

Let's start at the beginning! How did you first meet?
"We met through my best friend's sister."

How did you pull off the perfect proposal?
"We were staying in a hotel on the beach. The plan was to go to the lighthouse in Newburyport and have lunch where I would pop the question. I had her best friend going to meet us to take the picture and everything. Ashley went the day before to get a manicure.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature kicked in. That was our first real snow day and the plows weren't able to do a good job on the highway yet. Her friend wasn't able to make it. I was struggling just to drive out of the hotel parking lot. I had to decide between the location or her best friend being there. I decided to not go to the lighthouse and go back home. There she would be surrounded by friends and family.

As soon as we got home, I got on one knee in front of our house with the Christmas lights on. It was as good of a scenario for a picture as I could think of. I thought of this day for 6 months, and I couldn't wait another day. It had to be that day. Thankfully she said yes!"
