A Long's Proposal Story: Nidhi & Sujal

A fictitious work event leads these two high school sweethearts to their happily ever after! Read on to see how Sujal surprised Nidhi with her beautiful, new ring at Hammond Castle in Gloucester. On behalf of the entire Long's team, congratulations and best of luck.

How did the two of you meet?

"I had just moved from New Jersey to Massachusetts, and I was introduced to Nidhi through a mutual friend. We quickly became friends and got very close over the next few years. Nidhi and I lived an hour away from each other, and for teenagers in high school, it was long distance for sure. Thanks to FaceTime and meeting up for dates, prom, and gatherings through our Indian cultural events, we made it!"

How did you propose?

"About four of our friends have gotten engaged or married this year, and that was starting to make Nidhi feel very left out! She had started to believe an engagement wasn’t going to be happening anytime this year, but little did she know I had it all planned! I told her I had a work event we needed to attend at the Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA. Nidhi’s sister, Himani, and her friends, Dhara and Priya, made sure I had packed several outfits for her to change into for this “work event” I was taking her to and hid them in the car along with makeup and shoes. I also hired a photographer, pretending to be the “work event” photographer, and had him meet us there. As we made our way onto the beautiful arched wall overlooking the ocean, I got on my knee, and I asked her to marry me and spend the rest of our lives together.

After changing into different outfits and taking photos for two hours at the nearby beach, we drove to the Fulchino Vineyards in New Hampshire where all of our friends were waiting to surprise Nidhi and I at a party."

Tell us about the engagement ring!

"The ring had to be perfect and to do that, we spent hours and several days visiting Long's to choose the perfect diamond. The design was customized based on a ring featured on Ring Concierge's Instagram. After many days, we chose the perfect diamond and the results, well, you can see for yourself! We are so excited Long's was part of this beautiful journey."
