Most bands that include a carbon inlay are made out of tungsten carbide. We usually advise against buying a wedding band made from this material, because it isn't able to be sized or cut off of your finger in the case of an emergency. But recently, high end wedding band designers have started to include carbon inlays in rings made out of precious metals. These are a great way to get a modern edgy look while still getting all of the benefits of a gold or platinum ring.

5) Non-circular Bands

If you don't want a fancy design on your wedding band, perhaps you want a different shape than round? If that's the case then you're in luck! One of this year's hottest trends are non-circular wedding bands.

These bands can range from intricate wavy patterns to a more simple rounded square (like the one above). Having an obscure shape can mean that the wedding band's opening will be shaped differently than a normal circular ring.
